PUMA Pac Founder, Murphy, "NOT a Republican" (Updated 3x)

PUMA Pac founder and Democratic activist, Darragh Murphy, has been the target this week of allegations that she is a closet McCain supporter working for the Republicans to "to set up a secretive operation" to make McCain look moderate and make feminists look like "hysterical bitches" -- (Really Amanda, anyway).

Like some of you, I was alarmed that a Republican might have infiltrated PUMA disguised as a disgruntled Democrat and formed a group that is now a leader in the PUMA movement. Like some of you, I was angry and wanted to get to the bottom of it. PUMA is a growing group of disgruntled Democrats, not a Republican secret op, so any Republican mischief-maker would need to get the boot quickly. So, I decided to go right to the source to verify the veracity of these allegations.

Hear what Darragh has to say over the flip...

Message from Hillary Clinton - Retire Campaign Debt [Updated x2]

Today Hillary Clinton sent out an email and video message to her online supporters. Hill fans, Hillary still needs our support to retire campaign debt.

You have been such an inspiration to me during this campaign -- your commitment and your boundless enthusiasm made everything we accomplished in the last 17 months possible. So as I continue to make sure your voices are heard, I wanted to say a special thank you for all the hard work you did on my behalf.

Click here to watch my video message to you.

Thank you for everything,
Hillary

Hillary stayed in the race because of us and for the people. We gave her the financial support she needed to keep going and to finish the journey we all started together. So, her debt is our debt and we need to take care of it. I contacted her campaign finance office last week to verify how/where we can send contributions to help retire the campaign debt. I wrote a diary last week with details on how you can help Hillary retire campaign debt, but here are the details again:

1. Donate to Hillary online at the Hillary Clinton For President campaign website. There are also other bloggers fund raising to retire campaign debt. Alegre's Corner is raising funds to retire campaign debt. Also, check out the Forum, Heidi Li's Potpourri, or Lady Boomer NYC.

2. Mail checks to HRC's presidential campaign finance office in New York:

Hillary Clinton For President
420 Lexington Avenue, Suite 3030
New York, New York 10170

3. Purchase merchandise from the Hillary Store. There are still some selections of shirts, stickers, hats, signs, buttons, lapel pins, and accessories.

We've done it before, let's do it again. Cough up what you can and show Hillary some love. Skip another latte, brow wax, or manicure, skip a few beers or martinis, just walk by that pair of shoes. Stay in for date night, rent a movie, or hold your honey under the stars. Give it up for Hillary just one more time.

Help spread the word far and wide!

Update [2008-6-23 14:21:1 by grlpatriot]: FULL DISCLOSURE: Since the Gestapo has come out in force once again, please let me make this clear, as if it already was not. This diary is for Hillary's supporters to help retire campaign debt. Please also let it be known that I am blogging on other sites now because MyDD doesn't not represent all Democrats any longer and has become hostile to any dissent outside of the Obamedia and message. I have posted two diaries in the last week on MyDD, specifically related to retiring HRC's campaign debts. I also have made my intentions public at MyDD and on other blogs within the blogosphere that I am not supporting Obama's selection as the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party, I am part of the PUMA movement to take back the Democratic party, and I will be voting against Obama by casting a McCain vote. Now, with that clarified AGAIN, what in the hell does this have to do with a diary about retiring Hillary's campaign debts. If I would have stated all this in the diary (AGAIN) you would attack that I was advertising it. So, I didn't and you basically attack and accuse me of being subversive. Should I stick a triangular badge on my profile, so that you can quickly identify me? Stop being creeps. I'm not hear to fight with you.

Update [2008-6-23 15:1:22 by grlpatriot]: Regarding my Gestapo and triangle comment, I'm not suggesting that people are being killed. I'm saying that I have experienced and witnessed extreme behavior to silence and label dissenters. It is anti-Democratic and creepy. I am certainly not the first person to call this extreme behavior out here on MyDD.

Help Hillary Retire Campaign Debt

Wow, what a ride! We took our girl all the way to the finish line and crossed it with all the grit, guts, and glory of champions. I'm sure we are all still decompressing and determining our next steps. Whether you are fading into the Obama-nation or moving forward with Just Say No Deal, PUMA, Write Hillary In, Democrats for McCain, or joining one of the various NObama groups, we still have one piece of unfinished business to attend to - retiring Hillary's campaign debt.

Hillary stayed in the race because of us and for us. We gave her the financial support she needed to keep going and to finish the journey we all started together. I bought a few more shirts and bumper stickers and contributed online.

Come Out, Stand By Hillary Clinton (updated)

I support Hillary Clinton as the Democratic Party nominee and as the next President of the United States for reasons which I've expressed over the last 6 months. So, most of you here on MyDD know that I'm an ardent supporter of Hillary Clinton. But, you don't know that I'm like 1 in 10 Americans who many still refer to as a sinner, a sexual deviant, or as an abomination. So, today, in honor of Gay Pride month, I'm coming out of the closet on MyDD to share my very personal story why I will continue to support and stand by Hillary Clinton.

I grew up in a small town in central Virginia in the 1980's. Luckily, I passed. Passed? Passed as a heterosexual. It helped that I was popular and my quirkiness wasn't questioned. I wasn't subjected to the harassment, bullying, and teasing of which other tomboys or sissies became targets. But what happened to me was just as harmful. I hid. I hid from my family, my friends, and my community. In my last two years of high school, I was confused, alone, and becoming increasingly more depressed to the point of suicidal. By sheer will (and maybe a touch of grace), I made it to college. I started meeting people who were different, men and women who weren't afraid to express themselves outside of the norm, outside of social expectation, outside of heterosexuality. They didn't conform.

KY & OR Vote; Clinton Still In To Win [updated]

Results began coming in after 6 PM EST from Kentucky where voter turn out has been high, but less than expected was heavy. A lackluster turnout for Clinton could hinder a big win needed to offset a likely loss to Obama in Oregon.  The Oregon mail-in-ballot results should come in around 11 PM EST and OPR reports the state may see a record turnout. The latest Real Clear Politics (RCP) poll averages show Clinton with a 29 point lead in KY and have Obama leading in OR by 12. Clinton gained momentum with a 41 point win last week in West Virgina. She is expected to win in Kentucky and to maintain her lead in the popular vote (counting FL & MI) after winning Kentucky today - a state that President Clinton carried in 1992 and 1996. Despite claims from his campaign, Obama will not prematurely declare victory as the Democratic nominee tonight in Iowa.

Over the last three months, Clinton has won more contests, more votes, and more earned delegates than Obama. The nomination is neck and neck. Despite repeated calls for her to leave the race, Clinton has said and signaled that she will continue until all voters have had a chance to vote in remaining contests, Florida and Michigan are resolved, and a nominee has been selected.

Update [2008-5-20 20:22:57 by grlpatriot]: Clinton is the projected winner in KY. With 69% of the vote in, Clinton is winning by 33 points.

Update [2008-5-20 21:11:25 by grlpatriot]: With 95% of the KY vote in, Clinton is winning by 36 points. During Clinton's victory speech in Louisville, Obama released his April fund raising numbers: $31M to Clinton's $22M.

Update [2008-5-20 22:29:18 by grlpatriot]: With 100% of KY's precincts reporting, 701,127 votes were cast in the Democratic primary. Clinton claimed 65% of the vote, 34 delegates, and 249,374 more votes over Obama. Obama gets 30% of the votes and 14 delegates. Clinton won all the counties with big margins, except for Jefferson and Fayette, which went for Obama.

Update [2008-5-20 23:12:29 by grlpatriot]: Obama is the projected winner in OR. With 16% of the vote in, Obama is winning by 22 points.

Update [2008-5-20 23:35:4 by grlpatriot]: With 40% of the OR vote in, Obama is up by 18 points.

Update [2008-5-21 8:29:51 by grlpatriot]:This morning, with 88% of the OR vote in, Obama is up by 16 points. A few counties are still trickling in and Grant county has yet to report.

Winners, Wieners, and West Virginia [updated 2x]

What do winners do best? They win! Wieners, well, who cares about wieners. You can dress a wiener up, but that doesn't make it a winner.

Hillary is a winner. Now, if Obama was a winner, and has secured the Democratic nomination like the MSM and his surrogates say, then why isn't he going to win West Virginia or at least have a decent showing there? I just don't understand why Obama is still losing if I'm being told he is the winner. Maybe I'm just not "creative class" enough to comprehend the logic behind the manic push to prop up a wiener and sell it as a winner. If Obama has the nomination all locked up, then why is Hillary going to win West Virginia in a landslide? Why are voters still going to the polls for Hillary -- because she is a winner.

I want a real winner, not a wiener as the Democratic nominee. I want to be confident that the winner will do what winners do best -- they win Presidential elections. Some people will vote for a wiener, but most people won't vote for a wiener no matter what you call it. They just don't vote for wieners. People like to vote for winners because winners win.

Ok, what do you do if you realize now that you support a wiener, but at the time you thought he was a winner? Well, don't beat yourself up. Other people have made that same mistake. Luckily, there is still a winner in this race and she is happy to have your support. Give 'em hell, Hillary!

Update [2008-5-13 20:3:26 by grlpatriot]: Hillary wins West Virginia...big. Stay tuned.

Update [2008-5-13 22:6:32 by grlpatriot]: I'm guessing that Hillary's winning margin will be in the 40+ range. I hope you had a chance to hear her victory speech. She is calling for (Super) Delegates and voters in the upcoming races to support her and get on board the winning train to the White House. She is still in this race because winners don't quit.

Really, "Civil War"

Did anyone else notice how "civil war" slipped into the discussion today regarding the Democratic primary?

Earlier today, I heard a talking head on MSNBC refer to the primary as a "civil war." Also today, DKos decried about the recent Daily Kos writer's strike by pro-Clinton bloggers that "Clinton is planning...a destructive and dehabilitating civil war." At the Huffington Post today, Keli Goff also refers to the Democratic primary as a "civil war" that will ultimately end up benefiting the Republicans. Ms. Goff implies this will be at the hands of the Clinton campaign, by revealing that a "Democratic political operative" close to the Clintons told her that "the Clinton campaign would be tempted to engage in tactics that could arguably be viewed to have racial over (or under) tones" [her quote not the operatives].

Really, civil war. Is this inflamatory rhetoric the Obama campaign's "full assult" kick off to intensify the negative attacks against Hillary Clinton and her supporters? I certainly hope that the Obama campaign is not behind the meme change to define the primary as a "civil war" and that this is just the work of a few loose screws acting out on their own.
